Bio
Mike Misfit grew up in the backwaters of Aachen in the early eighties, way out on Germany’s western edge. For years, he beat out vocals, bass, or guitar in a motley string of punk bands. All of them famously loud, infamously unknown.
Then, in 2016, fate dealt him a seemingly rotten hand. Booked with his main band for a gig in Luxembourg, he watched the rest of the lineup call in sick the night before the show. So he played the songs the way he’d written them–just him and an old acoustic guitar. The gig turned into a trial by fire: the stage too big, the backstage too empty, the songs too bare. A one-off, he told himself. Just this once. A week later, he was back on stage. Alone again, guitar in hand. Then again. And again. By 2017, it was official: distortion out, storytelling in. Mike Misfit. Folk & acoustic punk.
Ever since, he’s been rolling through the backroads of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg in his battered old camper. Streets, squats, dive bars, festival fields–wherever he lands, he sings about the absurd weight of life, its dark corners, and the razor-thin line between tragedy and comedy.
